Advisory & Consulting
Senior product and GTM input — without the full-time hire.
I work with a small number of founders and businesses at a time. The work ranges from helping a bootstrapped founder figure out their market and stack before committing to a build, to supporting an enterprise team through a product launch or upskilling programme.
If you're trying to figure out what to build, how to take it to market, or how to bring your team up to speed on new tooling — that's the work I do.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Two kinds of people typically reach out.
Founders building early-stage products.
Usually pre-funding, often bootstrapped. The question isn't "can I build this?" — it's "should I build this, and if so, what's the fastest path to knowing if it works?"
I help founders get clarity on the market before they commit to a build, make pragmatic stack decisions that don't require venture money to sustain, and structure the product so the first version is something real customers can tell you about — not a prototype that sits in a GitHub repo.
Organisations investing in their team.
The second type of engagement is typically with a business — sometimes an enterprise, sometimes a growing SMB — that needs its people upskilled on AI workflows, new product processes, or digital capability more broadly. This is structured training and enablement, not ad hoc coaching.
WHAT CLIENTS COME WITH
Conversations usually start with one of these:
- "I have a product idea but I'm not sure the market is real. I don't want to spend six months building the wrong thing."
- "We've been building for a while and it's not growing the way we expected. Something is off but I can't see it clearly."
- "We need our team to actually understand and use AI tools — not just have access to them."
- "I need someone who's shipped products and understands the commercial side, not just the engineering."
TRACK RECORD
I don't work with a large number of clients at once, and I don't share case studies by name. But to give you a sense of the kind of work this involves:
I've supported a product launch at a Fortune 500 company through to a successful M&A — acquired by private equity following the launch. That project involved product strategy, positioning, and cross-functional alignment across a large organisation.
On the SMB and upskilling side, structured training programmes I've run have measurably increased revenue per head — through better tools, better processes, and the team actually using both.
Thirteen years of product and engineering work. Former Director of Product at MOTUS. Clients have included ThermoFisher Scientific, Parexel, and Lufthansa. Author of The Art of Product.
The relevant credential isn't the name of the company — it's the decisions I've been trusted to make inside them.
HOW WE WORK TOGETHER
Retained advisory
A monthly engagement for founders or operators who need ongoing strategic access. Typically involves regular calls, async input on decisions, and review of product and GTM work as it develops. Right for founders who want a thinking partner across a longer arc — not just a one-time answer.
Project-based work
Defined scope, defined output, defined timeline. Right for specific problems: a market analysis and stack recommendation before a build, a GTM strategy for a product about to launch, or a training programme for a team.
There's no fixed pricing on this page because the right structure depends on the work. The conversation comes first.

Tell me what you're working on — one paragraph is enough. I'll reply within a couple of days and we'll figure out from there whether it makes sense to go further.
I'm selective about the engagements I take on. That's not a tactic — it's how I make sure the work is actually useful to the people I work with.
